"SUNKAWAKAN (HORSE) STRONG" Canvas Print
"SUNKAWKAN (HORSE) STRONG"---First piece of the new year, 2019. This piece reflects the "FIRST'S" without a loved one. There are many families going through their "FIRST'S" without their loved one. Our family certainly has. Each "first" holiday, birthday, anniversary or special occasion can be very difficult to go through especially during the first year. Sunakawakan translates into horse in the Lakota/Dakota language. The horse represents courage, strength, stamina, speed, longevity. A horse unbridled with no rider symbolizes freedom of movement. This piece has many colors and that is reflective of the many emotions an individual or family can go through when dealing with the loss of a loved one. Those feelings only intensify around birthdays or holidays. In most cases we wanna run from our emotions or run until the hurting stops. I hope the horse in this piece can do the running for you so we can stop and address our emotions. I pray this new year may bring healing and comfort to those missing or dealing with the loss of a loved one. God Bless you
